Another sketch challenge this December at Scrap Inspire Create from Vivi's idea. I had a hard time conceptualizing my layout, as this sketch should be done in 8.5 x 11. I'm not used to it and this is quite a challenge for me.

Crate Paper sketch challenge

Crate Paper is having a sketch challenge. The sketch is quite challenging because it has a lot of blocks where you can play with lots of photos. But I opt to focus on a single image and use the other blocks for embellishment. It's good to know that we can use old releases of Crate Paper that's why I gave it a big go to do the challenge.

I'm not yet done with my summer outing photos and there are lot of it to scrap.I guess I'll be needing more sketches with multi-photos to finish it. Here are some of the layouts I've done in addition to my previous posts.

August Cosmo Cricket Challenge at Let's Scrap

I found this challenge at Let's Scrap. I knew I have very few pps at my stash. So after rummaging at my paper stacks I found only four pps and I have to see what can I come up with these few using the sketch below. I only used the right side of the sketch.

After looking for the perfect pictures that will compliments the papers, This is what I ended up with my layout. I made a lot of hand-cutting the flowers from Material girl pp.

Me at 41- SC August Color Challenge

Once again, I'm joining the weekly challenges at SC (Scrapbook Challenges). This time I chose to make a layout based on the color combos below. I did some punching on pp for the bricks effect on my layout using Sizzix paddle punch, a tool that I haven't used for a long time and now I can see the flexibility of this tool, something that the other punchers can't do.

MME blog challenge #14- and HM flowers tutorial

My Mind's Eye has another blog challenge for this month. It's a sketch by Anam Stubbington. Here are the rules: Use ANY My Mind’s Eye products (current or past) as long as your project has at least 80% My Mind’s Eye products. I must admit, I have a very few papers of MME and most of them are all from past collections. But since the challenge does not limit us to use the current collections, so I decided to join again in their challenge.
Here's the sketch.

But first all, despite the limited MME products on my stash, I'm very happy to share with you what I've came up with my layout using those few old MME pps and a negative of Bohemia embossed chipboards which I also used in my layout. I made my own flower embellishments using the design of MME Magnolia pps. Please scroll down to see the pictures below that will show on how did I turned a flat flower design into a dimensional one.

I used here: MME pps ( Out and About, Magnolia) Corrugated board, Negative of Bohemia Embossed Chipboard, trimming, rub-on, sticker, Acrylic paints and Tattered Angels glimmer mist.

I cut the flower design of MME pp.

I cut out the circle at the center of the flower.

I divided the scalloped edge petals into two and put some pleats in each petal to give contour on the petals andglued both ends.

I cut the blue dotted edge of the circle and rolled it to make center of the flower.

I glued the first layer of petals into the circle paper and layer it with another set of petals. And here it is, my own flower embellishment.

I added leaf at the bottom.

With this one, I punched six flower daisies to form the center of the flower.

Altered photo frame collage

I got this idea from one of the projects of Ms.Iris Uy, altering 7Gypsies printer's tray. I was looking for a similar product here in our place but couldn't find one, but I saw this photo frame collage in a bargain store. I enjoyed altering this frame using Webster's pages patterned papers and also did some stamping. Then, I placed it inside another frame.

Fall Layouts

Pumpkin picking, pumpkin patch, halloween trick or treat, falling leaves, autumn colors etc, just to name a few of the topics they're looking for a layout for publication. I was thinking where will I get photos of these themes. My very dear friend, Ret-ret, who are now based in Canada shared with me photos of their visit to a pumpkin patch with her hubby and very cute DD. I had so much fun doing these layouts.

Previously, I posted my projects that was done last May 2010. But what about the month of June 2010? I'd been shouting over at FB that I finished many layouts, yet none of them had been posted here in my blog. Well, I did not post them here because some of those LOs were submitted for publications. Luckily, two of them were chosen to be published at Scrap Sreet e-zine this coming September.

This is the layout that started to bring my mojo in scrapping back. I used here papers from G45.

Home Sweet Home: Taken last Easter egg hunting activity of the LB scrapaholics.

I already finished this layout, when I saw the June challenge at Scrap Inspire Create. Very timely that this layout met the challenge requirements, to create a boy or male LO based on "Men in Our Lives" and adding chipboards as a twist. Without thinking twice, I joined and submitted this LO.

Admirer: My one and only.

No challenge for this layout, just practicing how to make hand made flowers and my first time to do these flowers made from circle of pps and rolled in to become flowers. And also I'm not so much of using laces and ribbons in my LOs, trying hard to add these on my page.

Hello there! I'm back and still trying to make myself back to normal blogging mode. I guess I've been away for more than a month, and I have to wake up my sleeping blog. Forgive me for being so quiet around here in my blog, but that doesn't mean I didn't do anything scrappy. I've been busy taking orders and creating invites and giveaways for my clients and at the same time posting and updating my online galleries instead. Yes, I know it's already August, time went so fast and I realized that it's also time for me to share here my projects. Some are long over due for posting.
At any rate, I would like to begin it with the Prima mini album class I attended last May 22, 2010 hosted by Ms Iris Uy.

Here are the pages of my finished mini album. I played here the pictures of our trip to Hong Kong last January 2010. I learned from the class so many different techniques specially the acrylic paint heated with heat gun to give that antique finish.

Layout and Sketch Challenge over at Bo Bunny

I don't have much lines of Bo Bunny Collections, that's why I'm joining their Sketch and Layout challenge for this month of May, hoping to try my luck of bagging their fabulous prizes of new line collections.

Here's the featured sketch challenge for this month.

I used here stamps I newly bought from Lasting Impressions, it's a Delicate Branches from Inkadinkado. I put on the stamped image a distressing powder from Tim Holtz, a new technique I learned just recently from the Prima Class I attended a week ago.

Here's another gorgeous stamp from Inkadinkado. Isn't it beautiful? I love how it turned out my page to look very warm and sweet.

Part of this month challenge is to create a layout that focused on Moms. I played with the photos of my sister and her sweet and darling daughter with single page layout. I used here some Bo Bunny Paris Blossoms and Romance pps and die cuts. Hand cut some of the design of pps and used it as embellishments, Scrapworks shimmer shapes alphas, AAS foam alphas with Rangers glossy accenton top of it and blings.

My First Reveal at Sketchabilities

Finally, the long wait for me to share with you my first ever DT assignment at Sketchabilities is over. Here's a sketch made by Allison Richardson. I got the chance to make a layout of my DH using this sketch. I love the outcome of my layout as I was able to use those little gears and the mini bicycles as embellishments.

Eco-Friendly Loot Bags

My niece, Dra. Len-Len, asked me If I can make her loot bags for Miyal's 1st Birthday. She requested me to make something that does not use plastics but rather something made from papers. I suggested her of using the kraft paper bags that are readily available in the market. It's an animal theme. To make the loot bags compliments with the theme, I put a card on the front side and decorated it some puffy animal stickers.

I remember my first sketch layout at sketchabilities way way back 2008, had a hard time doing their sketch as it is not typical or normal we see on the sketch blog. when I visited again the site this year, I saw a very different style or approach. It is still more on multiphoto but I like the style now.

I love the sketch #12 the first time I saw it, I love the multiphoto layout of this sketch and so, I made one and here it is.

The baby crawling in my layout is my second son, Aldre, he was 8 months old at that time and now he's 15y.o.

A sketch challenge at My Mind's Eye. I couldn't think of anything that would fit the challenge title but to make a layout of the graduation picture of my late mother-in-law. So, what do you think? A 1963 grad photo is really a blast from the past than my baby picture huh! Sorry to tell, but nothing was left of my old, old photos because our house got burned many years ago and so our treasured memories.

Tears of Joy or Tears of r-Joy (name of the bride) Whatever?!

Last February 7, 2010, I attended the wedding of my niece R-joy. The bride was extremely beautiful in her white wedding gown, carried a bundle of beautiful flowers, even when she was crying as she walked down the aisle. This hearfelt moment is so touching that even made me cry with tears of joy.

The year I was Born

1968, Year of the Monkey, the year that I was born. In my layout was shown a chronicle of what happened, on the day fourteen of October 1968. Although it's in the U.S. events, I have this printed matter when I was 32 y.o. While I was having a general cleaning in the house, I found this paper and very timely that AMM, All About Me is having a challenge about the year we were born. I've been wanting to scrap this but couldn't find the time. But before the deadline is over, I finally made a layout on this. The picture was taken during my birthday celebration last year 2009. And here's my take.

Alter a Plastic Flower

Hi peeps! I just want to share my first altered item for this year. Artz de Scrap is having this challenge, to alter any artificial flower. I have this flower brooch ( please see photo above) and used the biggest layer as part of my project. What I did is, I alter it and made a flower memo or note card holder attached to a keepsake box. I applied glue stick to the edges of the petals to make it stiff and added some glitters and sandwiched it with two 2 1/2" circle chipboards. I covered the chipboard with patterned paper and put rick rack on the edge and embellished it with some prima flowers, hello friend die cut, buttons, bling, pollen and bee. I put a wooden clothes pin at the back as a memo holder. And this is what i came up. Thanks for looking.

The Dollies are asked us to create a project that honors the women in our lives. I would like to give honor to these wonderful ladies, the LB Scrapaholics, who, in one way or another has touched my life. It is with so much happiness that I found love and friendship with them and sharing a common passion.

Here's my take for the element and color challenge in one layout: Happiness
The color challenge is a bit odd to me and I had a hard time doing it because of the color combination of lavender,white and grey.

Another weekend is coming, and still no layouts done for this month. ooh! that's too bad for me. I've seen many interesting sketch challenges for this month and yet I still can't find time to scrap. I've been very busy last week, and there are still many things to be done in my workshops. After delivering some project kits to schools, there are more framings jobs and albums to do and need to finish it by next week.
But before I forgot, I would like to share more layouts I've done last month. These are the 4 layouts I made during our scrap buffet. I had a great time scrapping with my amigas on that day. Aside form the sumptuous food we had, there were non-stop "chickahan" while we're scrapping.

Design Dollies Monthly Challenge

I found this blog from my friend Dra Chix of LB scrapaholics. Design Dollies has very interesting challenges to take. They run three challenges a week each hosted by a different Dollie and these are Color Challenge , Elements Challenge and Sketch Challenge. I got interested to take the color challenge. This time, they are looking for MONOCHROMATIC BLUES in our projects, any shades of blue. I already did a project similar to this challenge that's why this is no longer new to me. But nevertheless, it is still fun to do this challenge.

Pencil Lines January Sketch Challenge

I'm really in the mood scrapping today, It's my first time to join the weekly sketch challenge at Pencli Lines. I did only sketch #169 and #170.

Sketch #169 : Sweet Life

I change the orientation of the sketch.

Materials used: DCWV Cardstock PP, Webster's Pages PP Sweet Life, BG Chipboard alpha Wilma, Fancy Pants Stamps, Anna Griffin Flora Collection Journal tag, metal embellishments, distressing chalk inks, scallop lace, glitter glue.

Technique: Yes, I made this flower using large heart puncher. I'm very happy with the outcome of my handmade flower. I also made another one using sakura puncher. Please see below picture.

Here, instead of using patterned paper, I used strip of double sided tape, and sprinkled it with glitters, making it my border background of my picture.

Yesterday, I was able to finish 4 layouts, all to be submitted for Creative Scrappers January sketch Challenge. I was really in the mood of scrapping yesterday. But the bad things is, no household chores was done except the laundry, with a little help from my washing machine. Mojo is back!

Last two years had been very tough for me and my family. With all those problems and hardships, we're able to battle all those things and my family are still here through thick and thin. Despite all these, we never forget to thank God for all the simple and big blessings He showered upon us.

Time is moving fast, and it's already third week of January 2010 and I thought I could not make any LO or project before the month ends. Finally, just two hours ago, I was able to scrap one layout before I left for a 3-days vacation at HK. And hopefully this could be a good start for my scrappin' moods to conitnue. Although, it's not yet finish, still have to put the title and some journaling. And beside, my camera is not with me and I can't take a good shots of it. But I'll show a portion of what I did using the camera of this computer.

I'll post a good shot when I come back.

This will be my entry for Scrap, Inspire, Create January Challenge which will be due by Feb 3, 2010.

Our Daily Bread Designs November 2009 Blog Hop Challenge

Last November 3, I joined their DT's Blog hop challenge. In each blog a secret word is revealed to complete the bible phrase.The shimmer is what this month's Design Team Challenge is all about. Each DT created Christmas cards with lots of shimmering effects and most of their creations are very gorgeous and elegant. I'm loving all the different techniques they used in their cards.

The secret bible phrase is:

Here's my take on this card challenge.

I used here the technique I learned from the last Scrapjam, distressing the card with TH distressing inks ( yellow, red and brown), masking technique with my mixture of copper acrylic paint and water as glimmer mist. Embossing with gold embossing powder, Reeves glitter glue. Add some gold beads at the center of the flower, red stones at center of the masked flower, gold ric-rac.

SCRAPJAM 2009

The most awaited Scrapjam 2009 finally took place after its postponement from October 3 to October 10, 2009, because of possible coming of another storm, Pepeng after Ondoy. It was held at Alexandria in Pasig City. This is the event that we, scrapaholics, really don't want to miss because we believed that there are lots of surprises awaiting for us, as what we had on the past Scrapjams. Well! I did not get wrong, this is my third time attending and I had a great time the whole day during the class demo, challenge, raffle, catching, eating, chatting and shopping.

I'll be sorry for myself If I did not come because I won't have these yummy goodies if I missed the event. Look at what I've got. Super happy to the max!

These are what inside the loot bag, papers, papers, and papers! 2 Fancy Pants big board chipboards and Provocraft silent eyelet setter.

The organizing committee continuously pouring us with lots of give-aways, like papers again, stickers, and papers, while we're doing the mini album.

Oooohhh!!! La! La! La! What a great catch from the last Scrapjam 09 happened at Alexandria Pasig City. I'm one of the sooooo!!! lucky to catch this Tim Holtz Stampers anonymous Stamps, which we used during the demo class, being thrown away before the event ends. I'm so in love with this stamps. I'm supposed to buy this one but my budget does not permit me. This one only, already paid off my registration fee, aside from the loot bag, kits, raffle prize and lots of give-aways and the foods, of course!. Sulit talaga!!!

Challenge #37: Profile

I've been blog hopping for weeks now and happened to cross the Dreamgirls challenge blog. I liked their challenge at an instant because of their requirements to use eyelets on our LO. I have lots of it and this is really an opportunity for me to use some of my eyelets. I got interested on this and decided to do the challenge.

These are the requirements for the challenge.

Prompt:Bring out the eyelet love! Use at least 10 eyelets on a layout and get down with your old school self!
Technique: Doodle - Doodle a border or frame or swirls on your page
Product: find a way of sneaking in a Bird or Owl onto your page

here's my take:

I used here, Glitz PPS Plum Crazy and Olivia. AC thickers Jewelry Box, Tim Holtz Mask Swirls, Die cut chipboard stickers, My own mixture of Glimmer mist, Heidi Swapp Chandelier stamp, TH distressing ink, Ranger Perfect pearl,Glossy Accent, brads, lace and MME rub-ons.
