Scrap the Girl November Challenge

Here's another layout challenge I made for the month of November.

White and 1 November Challenge

A friend of mine suggested me to visit this site. I 've been visiting the site for a month before I decided to join their November challenge. Unfortunately, the owner of this blog decided to close it and have her last Challenge until December.

Still happy, at least I made one and here's my take.

Hatty Holiday

Finally, I was able to finish my Christmas layout which is supposed to be sumbitted to LB scrapaholics blog last December 2008. The reason why, is because I missed place the pictures and found it only last week when I was having a make over of my scraproom.
Here it is. Thanks for looking.

Mini Album pages for Timi and Chiqui

To complete the mini album, I also made one for Timi and Chiqui.

Indulge: October Birthday Bash

Last October 17, Me, Timi and Chiqui, had a birthday bash celebration at Lina's Orchard. Part of that celebration were watching movie, "Kimy Dora", photo op, foot spa and dinner. We really had a good time, as we don't have any idea of their plans that day.

These are the mini album pages they created for me as their birthday gift.

Our Daily Bread Designs November 2009 Blog Hop Challenge

Last November 3, I joined their DT's Blog hop challenge. In each blog a secret word is revealed to complete the bible phrase.The shimmer is what this month's Design Team Challenge is all about. Each DT created Christmas cards with lots of shimmering effects and most of their creations are very gorgeous and elegant. I'm loving all the different techniques they used in their cards.

The secret bible phrase is:

A savior has been born to you. He is the Lord. Luke 2:11

Here's my take on this card challenge.

I used here the technique I learned from the last Scrapjam, distressing the card with TH distressing inks ( yellow, red and brown), masking technique with my mixture of copper acrylic paint and water as glimmer mist. Embossing with gold embossing powder, Reeves glitter glue. Add some gold beads at the center of the flower, red stones at center of the masked flower, gold ric-rac.

SCRAPJAM 2009

The most awaited Scrapjam 2009 finally took place after its postponement from October 3 to October 10, 2009, because of possible coming of another storm, Pepeng after Ondoy. It was held at Alexandria in Pasig City. This is the event that we, scrapaholics, really don't want to miss because we believed that there are lots of surprises awaiting for us, as what we had on the past Scrapjams. Well! I did not get wrong, this is my third time attending and I had a great time the whole day during the class demo, challenge, raffle, catching, eating, chatting and shopping.

I'll be sorry for myself If I did not come because I won't have these yummy goodies if I missed the event. Look at what I've got. Super happy to the max!

These are what inside the loot bag, papers, papers, and papers! 2 Fancy Pants big board chipboards and Provocraft silent eyelet setter.

The organizing committee continuously pouring us with lots of give-aways, like papers again, stickers, and papers, while we're doing the mini album.

My prize during the raffle, one 8x8 accordion album, rub-on and scrapbooking calendar.

..... Good catch! Isn't it?

Class kit: mini album of blooms and butteflies using different techniques of distressing, wall hanging using glossy papers, distressing ink.

SEPTEMBER SKETCH CHALLENGE

I thought the owner of this blog will not consider my entry to their sketch challenge. I'm thankful to Nana and Vanessa for still accepting my layout. It was less than 2 hours before the deadline(September 30 U.S. time), October 1 here, when I decided to join. I hurriedly get all my stuff to create this layout. I'm kinda shaking a bit while doing the LO beacuse time is running so fast that I might not be able to make it. But still I manage to finish it, took a picture and preparing to upload it in their site. I thought it was just easy to upload it. It's quarter to 12 of October 1, Philippine time,and I have to register first and upload it to their gallery and make a comment and put a link. The process took me so long. As I was making a comment in the blog I missed the verification step, it's 11:55am, I thought my comment was in but when I looked at it I did not see my comment, so I have to re-type everything again. When I'm done and hit the enter key, to my dismay, the time was 12:01 am October 1, 2009 U.S. time and I really felt bad. The blog owners were kind enough to include my LO and announced my entry as winner of the September sketch challenge.

Here's my take to this challenge:

I used here Webster's Pages Classic Beauty PPS, Daisy Bucket Playlist PPS, Anna Griffin PPS ( birds and flowers), Prima Flower, Heidi Swapp thickers, AC Thickers Darling, Color Box stampad Ink, cardstack for photo mat, Yellow flower & stone with glitter(flower center)from Timi, ribbon,brads, butterfly, Page background from Yvet and my own mixture of glimmer mist.

These are what I'm going to receive as my prize for this challenge.

My First PinoyScrapbookers KAYA Challenge Entry

A challenge hosted by Gracie, to scrap about a food photo of our favorite dish or recipe.

Creamy Beef-Tofu

A little twist of Beef Steak ala Crema from the recipe booklet of Life's Rich! with Nestle All Purpose Cream. A dish to celebrate my son's birthday!

Journaling:My son asked me to cook beef steak ala crema. But there were about less than 1/2 kilo of beef strip left in the freezer. Since tofu was available inside the fridge, I used it as meat extenders and put some bokchoy leaves to add color. It was surprising that the tofu blended well with the cream sauce. We all loved the come out of this recipe.

Ingredients:
* 1/2 kg beef sirloin, thinly sliced, cut into strip
* 18g Maggi Magic Sarap
* 2tbsp Maggi Savor, calamansi
* 1/4 cup cooking oil
* 1 med Onion, sliced into rings
* 1 250ml Nestle All purpose cream
* 1 pck Tofu
* 2 pcks Bokchoy Leaves ( Taiwan Pechay)

Procedures:
1. Rub beef with Maggi MAgic sarap and Maggi Savor. Marinate for at least 20 minutes.
2. Cut tofu into cubes, drege in flour. Fry until golden brown, set aside.
3. Heat oil, saute onions for 2 minutes or until crisp tender, then set aside.
4. In the same pan, add marinated beef and pan fry until brown. Add fried onions, tofu and bokchoy leaves. Pour in teh cream, simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and serve.

Materials Used:
Premiere matboard- die cut page background
Webster's Pages- A Sweet Life, tell your story ( hand cutting the designs)
